Born and educated in Ohio, Jack has tuned adversity into a career in medicine. Hospitalized with viral meningitis three different times as a child, most kids may have been discouraged. Not Jack. His uncommon illness led him to his current position in medicine. "I always had questions, and medicine fascinated me" said Jack. Being sick as a child made Jack appreciate the care provided to him, and gave him the desire to provide medical care to others. While getting his Masters, Jack rotated though many different specialties and found that surgery impressed him the most, as it could make a dramatic difference in improving the quality of a patients life. That, along with his love of sports, led to his choice of Orthopedic Surgery as a specialization. This was a perfect fit for him with his undergraduate degree of exercise physiology. Jack married his wife Jessi in December of 2009 and they have recently added a puppy named Cooper to their family. They moved to Greer in August of 2010 and Jack began working at OSS in September of 2010. They are loving the warmer weather here and enjoy being outside. Jack is also a huge sports fan and watches as much football as possible. Jack is very privileged to be working with Dr. Visk and is extremely excited about his future at OSS.
