Karen Babish grew up in New Hampshire with a very good understanding of PA’s.  Her primary healthcare provider and her neighbor were Physician Assistants. Her appreciation and admiration for them turned into a desire to follow in their footsteps. Her hard work and long list of extracurricular activities in high school paid off with a full scholarship to Charleston Southern University. While attending CSU she fell in love with South Carolina and after receiving her Masters degree in Tennessee she began looking to the upstate for opportunities. OSS provided that opportunity when she began working with four OSS physicians in 2003. Soon, her fascination with arthritis and joint replacements led her to working full time for Dr. Sanchez. It’s not unusual to find Karen doing volunteer work at “Miracle Hill”. She also loves the outdoors with a particular interest in whitewater rafting and kayaking. On weekends, she will throw her kayak on the top of her car (try that by yourself) and head to the nearest river.
